Dungeonborne: Best Set Bonuses, Ranked (2024)

Dungeonborne is a tremendously complex game, and it gets even more complex in the later game stages. To survive the strongest monsters of the corrupted dungeons, as well as the attacks of hostile players, gamers need to get the best Set Bonuses they can from the gear they equip.

But knowing which Sets are the best for one's preferred playstyle can be tricky, even more so with so little information available about their effects and activation conditions. This list contains the best-set bonuses ranked, alongside a list of their effects, activation conditions, and precise information on how to take advantage of their boons.

Dungeonborne: Best Enchantments

Enchantments are modifications that Dungeonborne players can apply to Heirloom items. Here are the best ones available in the game.

9 Tiny Torment

Good Extra Damage, But Useless Long-Term

Dungeonborne: Best Set Bonuses, Ranked (2)
  • Pros: Extra damage.
  • Cons: Only useful in the early game.
  • Good for: Harassing, AoE combos.

Arguably, Tiny Torment is the least useful of all Set Bonuses. It is a good thing to have in earlier stages, but as players progress further in level (both of character and equipment) there are plenty of greater effects they must have to survive. Higher difficulty enemies in PvE require the best equipment to take down.

Tier 1 of Tiny Torment activates upon acquiring 6 set charges. Its only set effect activates when dealing direct unblocked damage to any target (either the player or NPC). The target will receive 3 points of true damage every 0.5 seconds for 5 seconds as damage over time. This effect has a 15-second cooldown on the same target, which means it can be activated on several targets at the same time. However, it cannot be re-applied until 15 seconds pass.

8 Drunk Alchemist

Unreliable, Situational Use Only

Dungeonborne: Best Set Bonuses, Ranked (3)
  • Pros: Can save players in a pinch.
  • Cons: Can benefit the enemy if players attack from range.
  • Good for: Situational, lucky players.

This Bonus requires 15 set charges in order to activate, and honestly, it couldn't get any worse. It is not only expensive, equaling the cost of more useful Set Bonuses. Its effect is also unreliable and situational.

The only tier of Drunk Alchemist Bonus Set causes the following effects. When dealing unblocked direct damage to enemy players outside of combat, the user will gain a random potion effect. If the damage is ranged, there is a chance that the player will instead apply a random flask effect to the target. This effect can trigger once every 30 seconds.

7 Midas Touch

The Best Way To Make Extra Gold

  • Pros: Earn gold fast.
  • Cons: No other effects.
  • Good for: Farming currency.

The Midas Touch set is the best way to cash in some extra gold, which is a highly sought-after resource in the end game. By killing monsters, opening chests, and safely extracting, players can get loads of gold. Every time they extract, this passive income can pile up in a fantastic snowball effect.

Dungeonborne: Best PvP Classes, Ranked

Players looking to dive into Dungeonborne's PvP aspect should consider the following classes.

Tier 1 will deposit 30 coins into the inventory after killing a target (activated when players have 3 charges of the set). Tier 2 will grant players 60 coins upon opening their first chest in the map (this effect activates when reaching 6 set charges). Finally, when players have 15 set charges, they'll receive 1800 gold coins each time they safely extract.

6 Tangling Chain

Great For Crowd Control And Mitigation

Dungeonborne: Best Set Bonuses, Ranked (6)
  • Pros: Best CC and mitigation.
  • Cons: High budget, class limitations.
  • Good for: Tanks and melee classes.

The Tangling Chain grants the best combination of crowd control and mitigation. At Tier 1, after staying within 4 meters of an enemy player for 3 seconds, the player can deal unblocked direct damage to gain a 100-point shield for 3 seconds. This effect can trigger once every 15 seconds against the same target, and needs 12 set charges to activate.

Tier 2 grants further benefits. When triggered, players gain 90 additional movement speed for 3 seconds, with the effect gradually decreasing over time (25 set charges needed). Finally, upon reaching 30 set charges, the tier 3 effect will cause a triggered effect. The user gains 33 life regeneration per second for 3 seconds. Combining this with the correct accessories and defensive stats can be a game-changer.

5 Force Of Trinity

Good Against Vanguards, Great AoE Damage

Dungeonborne: Best Set Bonuses, Ranked (7)
  • Pros: Great for Vanguards.
  • Cons: Situational for other classes.
  • Good for: Harassing, prolonged fights, PvP.

The Force of Trinity set is the best investment for ranged class players who are tired of dealing with pesky melee classes. In Tier 1, after dealing three instances of unblocked direct damage from attacks or skills within 3 seconds, users deal 100 physical damage to nearby enemies in an AoE radius (activates at 15 set charges).

The Tier 2 effect also slows nearby targets affected by the AoE by 80%, though the effect decays over 5 seconds (activates at 25 set charges). Finally, the Tier 3 effect applies a 20% Vulnerability debuff to nearby targets for 5 seconds. (This effect will become available upon reaching 30 set charges.)

4 Faery Of The Lake

Good For Damage And Harassing

Dungeonborne: Best Set Bonuses, Ranked (8)
  • Pros: Good at kiting and harassing.
  • Cons: Lots of noise and light, can reveal your position.
  • Good for: Cornering targets, extra damage.

If players want to become a truly annoying mage, the Faery of the Lake Set Bonus is perfect. At Tier 1, When dealing unblocked direct damage, the player summons a faery that pursues the target. After hitting the target, the faery explodes, dealing 50 holy damage to enemies and granting a 50-point shield to nearby allies for 5 seconds.

Dungeonborne: Best PvE Classes, Ranked

Players interested in the best PvE classes for Dungeonborne may want to consider the following options.

This effect cannot trigger again until the faery returns, and requires 20 set charges to activate, but it is excellent in enclosed spaces. Tier 2 of the set increases the faery's movement speed and applies the same explosive effect upon its return. (It requires 30 set charges to activate.) It is a high-budget but rewarding set effect, ideal for Cryomancers, Pyromancers, Druids, and Priests.

3 Storm Rage

The Best Area Damage And Utility Combination

Dungeonborne: Best Set Bonuses, Ranked (10)
  • Pros: Great Extra Damage, chain effect.
  • Cons: High budget.
  • Good for: Harassing, debuff, utility.

Storm Rage offers a combination of chain lightning, a burst of speed, and a slow debuff. Tier 1 causes a build-up effect by moving, and upon reaching 100 charges, dealing unblocked direct damage will trigger the effect of Storm Rage. This inflicts additional lightning damage and reduces the target's movement speed by 75% for 0.75 seconds (requires 12 set charges to become active). This is a great way to initiate ranged combat.

Upon reaching 25 set charges, when Storm Rage is triggered, players gain a 40% movement speed bonus for 1 second. This doesn't have an activation cooldown and only depends on the Storm Rage charges, so as long as they keep moving, they can keep activating it. Finally, in Tier 3, Storm Rage will ricochet between up to 3 targets, dealing 100 lightning damage to each target and applying the Slow effect. This last effect requires 30 set charges to activate, but it is a good investment.

2 Dragon's Scale

The Best At Damage Mitigation

Dungeonborne: Best Set Bonuses, Ranked (11)
  • Pros: Good mitigation.
  • Cons: Works best with certain classes.
  • Good for: Vanguard classes, especially Swordmaster and Death Knight.

For those who want to play a tank or melee class, the Dragon's Scale set bonus is a good way to become even tankier. On the other hand, if they play the squishier classes, this set will become a lifesaver during PvP. Tier 1 of Dragon's Scale reduces damage taken by 50% upon being hit. The effect can be triggered once every 60 seconds, and costs 15 set charges to become active.

When reaching 25 set charges, the second effect activates, and now the damage reduction effect will last for 3 hits or 3 seconds before it goes on cooldown. Combining this damage reduction with other similar effects, like the Whirling Blades passive from the Swordmaster, will turn players nearly immortal.

1 Pity Of Death

Will Save The Player's Life In A Pinch

Dungeonborne: Best Set Bonuses, Ranked (12)

  • Pros: Low budget, auto-revive.
  • Cons: None.
  • Good for: PvP, all classes.

Speaking of being immortal, the Pity of Death is another that players should aim to have. In Tier 1, when taking fatal damage, players will not die. Instead, their health will be set to 70. The effect can be triggered at most once, and resets upon resurrection. It requires 9 set charges to become active.

When reaching 15 charges of the set bonus, the effect will now trigger multiple times, but it has a 120-second cooldown. This means players will be practically immortal for as long as they receive constant damage during the fight. At least, it works a minimum of 3 to 5 times, depending on the circ*mstances. This is the most broken set of the lot, and is even low-budget, allowing players to pair it with other sets if they combine their equipment properly.
